Project BBQ is still in development. This notice explains what happens to information you choose to send through this website.

What we collect

The Get Involved forms collect the contact details and route-specific information shown on the form you choose. We also record the submission time, route/source, an internal submission ID, and evidence of the wording you agreed to when asking us to contact you.

We do not use these forms to collect advertising profiles, browser fingerprints or unrelated Bluetooth information.

Why we use it

We use your information to review and respond to the particular Project BBQ opportunity you registered for: beta testing, thermometer compatibility research, creator involvement, or instructor/school research. We do not use that permission as a general marketing opt-in.

Our basis for using it

Where the form asks for your permission to contact you about the route you selected, we keep a record of that permission and use the information for that stated purpose. You can withdraw that permission at any time by contacting Project BBQ.

Who receives it

Website submissions are stored using Project BBQ's website infrastructure and are processed through the Project BBQ Outreach workflow. Service providers that host or protect the website may process information on our behalf where necessary to provide those services.

How long we keep it

We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose you registered for, including appropriate records of consent, contact preferences and previous involvement. Retention periods will be reviewed as Project BBQ's testing and outreach processes mature.

Your choices and rights

You can ask Project BBQ to stop contacting you about the interest you registered, and you may have rights over your personal information under UK data protection law, including rights to access, correct or erase information in applicable circumstances.

Privacy contact

Before the public site opens, Project BBQ will publish a dedicated contact route here for privacy requests. The forms will not be opened publicly until that contact route is live.

This notice will be updated if the way Project BBQ collects or uses personal information materially changes.
